Why Real Growth in Kids (and Parents) Is Never Instant

Change takes time—something I’ve learned over and over as a parent. When my daughter struggled with reading, I wanted to fix it overnight. But progress was slow, with lots of little victories and setbacks along the way. It was hard not to compare her to others, but I realized that real growth doesn’t happen on a schedule. Every child moves at their own pace, and that’s okay. Now, when she reads a new book on her own, I’m reminded that patience and encouragement matter so much more than rushing results.
