I thought I knew my girlfriend inside out. We’ve been together for three years, and trust was never an issue—until now. I was planning to propose, so I asked her best friend, Justine, to help pick out a ring. While Justine and I were flipping through catalogs at my place, I texted my girlfriend to check when she’d be home. She replied, saying she was out shopping with Justine. But Justine was literally right next to me!
My heart dropped. Why would she lie? She came home acting totally normal, but I couldn’t shake the confusion and anger. I want to confront her, but how do I do that without revealing my proposal plans? This secret is eating me alive. Have you ever caught your partner in a lie like this? How did you handle it?
