Hollow Yeast Cake

Ingredients: • 300g warm water • 1 tablespoon sugar • 1 packet (≈7g) yeast • 500g (1 jin) all-purpose flour Instructions: 1. Dissolve sugar in warm water, add yeast, and stir until fully dissolved. 2. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour. Mix until crumbly, then knead by hand into a cohesive dough. 3. For optimal texture, knead thoroughly until smooth and elastic (about 8-10 minutes). 4. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Shape each into a round ball. 5. Starting with the first ball you shaped, roll it into an oblong shape (like a tongue). 6. Cover all portions with plastic wrap and rest for 20-30 minutes. 7. Preheat an ungreased skillet/pan over medium heat. 8. Place a dough portion in the skillet. Flip it every 20 seconds to ensure even heating. 9. The flatbread will gradually puff up – each will form large air pockets when properly cooked. 👉 Tip: Frequent flipping is key for even rising! Save this recipe if you’d like to try it later.
