Kristi Key+FollowBreast cancer vaccine trial brings new hopeCleveland Clinic’s experimental breast cancer vaccine is moving to a bigger trial after most local participants had a strong immune response and only mild side effects. The idea is to train the body to recognize and attack a protein that shows up in breast cancer cells, potentially stopping the disease before it starts. While it’s still early days and not a cure yet, the next phase will include more women and a placebo group to really test if it works. Imagine a future where breast cancer could be prevented—what would that mean for our families and community? #Health #BodyHealth #BreastCancer51Share
Kimberly Parker+FollowCheck your breasts. Don't wait, and don't take "fine" for an answer.Yesterday was honestly one of the hardest days I’ve had yet. Even though my annual physical in August, including the breast exam, was totally clear, I noticed a small lump—like a long green bean—right before Thanksgiving. The earliest appointment was miles away in January, but I called repeatedly until I snagged a cancellation for yesterday. I ended up getting an ultrasound, my very first mammogram, and then they immediately rolled me into a same-day biopsy. I’m now waiting until the end of next week for the pathology results. If you feel anything at all, push back and keep calling until you get seen. I’m spending the weekend snuggling my dog and watching terrible Christmas movies to stay sane. Drop your trashy movie recommendations below, please. #Health #BreastHealth #BreastCancer 22Share
Kimberly Parker+Followmy mother found a lump in her breast and she is absolutely refusing to go see a doctor about it 😩For cancer survivors, what was the one symptom that finally sent you to the doctor? I am especially stressed right now because my own mother found a lump in her breast and she is absolutely refusing to go see a doctor about it. I have a terrible feeling about it, and I am worried sick that it could be breast cancer. I need to hear some real-life experiences to help me get her to take this seriously. #CancerSurvivors #HealthJourney #PatientStories #Health #BreastCancer 2011Share
