William Goodwin+FollowFord’s Billion-Dollar Bet That Paid OffImagine being so close to bankruptcy that one flop could end it all. That was Ford in the early '80s—until they dropped the Taurus. This wasn’t just a new car; it was a total company shakeup. Ford bet $3 billion (in '80s money!) on a futuristic sedan, changed their whole vibe, and it worked. The Taurus became a hit, saved the company, and forced rivals to rethink everything. Who knew a 'melted soap bar' could be a hero? #Cars #FordTaurus #AutoHistory00Share
Leah Pierce+FollowCar Companies’ Biggest Safety Cover-UpsDid you know some cars were legal for years before anyone realized how dangerous they were? Think exploding Ford Pintos, spinning Corvairs, and airbags that turned into shrapnel bombs. Automakers often knew about these deadly flaws but figured paying lawsuit settlements was cheaper than fixing the problem. It took thousands of injuries and deaths before recalls finally happened. Wild to think how many of us rode around in these rolling risks! #Cars #CarFails #AutoHistory00Share
patrick16+FollowThe dumbest-looking cars of all time (according to me)Some cars are beautiful, some are functional, some are just ugly… and then there are cars that just look plain dumb. No reason. Fine there are still some reasons: 1️⃣ Amber Russian EV – A face only a tadpole could love. 2️⃣ Fiat Multipla – Like no adults were involved in the design process!! What are you, toy? 3️⃣ Youabian Puma – Honestly, the default answer to this question. 4️⃣ Gen 2 Dodge Durango – The back is fine, but that front end is like a French Bulldog with an underbite. 5️⃣ 1958–60 Dodge Trucks – Trucks with fins, tongues sticking out, and a general “What were they thinking?” vibe. Cars can be “so stupid they’re ugly” or “so ugly they’re stupid,” and these definitely fall into one (or both) categories. Which ones would you add to the list? 😂😂 #CarDesign #UglyCars #CarTalk #AutoHistory #Cars 7936Share
