Charlotte flyers pay most, workers struggle

Charlotte Douglas Airport passengers have been hit with the highest airfare costs in the country—paying over $100 more per round trip than travelers at similar airports. Meanwhile, many airport workers, who keep everything running, are still earning as little as $12.50 an hour and facing tough conditions. Even though American Airlines dominates nearly 90% of the flights and the airport is booming, those benefits aren’t reaching employees or local families.
