When my life hits rock bottom, my natural instinct is to just sit in the dark, feel sorry for myself, and wait for God to fix it. I tell myself, "I'll praise Him when He gets me out of this." But I was reading Acts 16 today. Paul and Silas were brutally stripped, beaten with rods, and locked in the deepest, darkest inner dungeon with their feet in stocks. They were in agonizing physical pain. They didn't complain. At midnight, in the pitch black, they just started singing hymns to God out loud. The other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, God sends a massive, targeted earthquake that shakes the foundations, flies every door open, and shatters everyone’s chains. They didn't wait for the rescue to worship. Their worship in the absolute dark is what caused the walls to fall. Praise Him in the pain. #Acts16 #WorshipInTheWaiting #FaithInTheDark #MidnightPraise
