Japan is planning to wrap the Moon in solar panels and power Earth forever. It's called the Luna Ring, and the Shimizu Corporation is the company behind it. Picture a belt of solar panels stretching about 11,000 km around the Moon's equator. Some stretch of that ring is always facing the Sun, so it never stops generating power. That energy gets converted into microwaves and lasers, then fired back to receiving stations on Earth. Clouds can't block it. Night can't shut it off. And not a drop of fossil fuel gets burned along the way. Endless sunlight, harvested in space and shipped home. Just a glowing ring around the Moon, keeping every city below it lit.
