I hit a wall this week. The stress from work, the bills, the family drama... I just wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. I honestly felt like a massive failure as a Christian for being this depressed. Then I read 1 Kings 19. Elijah had just defeated 450 false prophets, but immediately after, he completely crashes. He runs into the desert, sits under a bush, and literally asks God to let him die. He is totally physically and emotionally empty. But God doesn't rebuke him. God doesn't preach a three-point sermon about "having more faith." What does God do? He sends an angel to cook him a hot meal, and then lets him go back to sleep. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is just eat a good meal and take a nap.
