Philippians 4:7 The reality is, we’re body, soul and spirit. The reality is we walk in the flesh until we’re surrendered to Jesus, sold out to Him…His will for our life, and our only desire is to accomplish His purpose. We’re transformed, our mind renewed. We now walk in the reality of the Spirit. our dictionary is rewritten. Our definition of death, we learn, is not destruction of the flesh, gone forever, but rather the state of a spirit in the absence of God. Likewise, His Peace, which is unable to be corrupted by mankind and the chaos we create, isn’t fully understood by someone who doesn’t know Him. In fact, Paul tells us His Peace transcends all understanding, His Peace guards our heart and mind in Jesus. His Peace is our reality in a spirit filled, spirit led life. The Holy Spirit’s victory over the flesh. Paul describes this peace as a “tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ…fearing nothing from God… and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort…”. We don’t find peace in the nightly news, we don’t find peace in an unguarded street. We don’t find peace in a home that doesn’t first have God’s peace. This is the Peace that comes with the assurance of salvation and is incorruptible, imperishable. Any peace man creates…worldly peace is filled with broken promises, pride and arrogance, love of self, greed, and lust for power…and temporary. God‘s peace covers us when we’re unsettled, fearful. God‘s peace surrounds us and fills us when we’re suffering. His Peace is eternal, and our reality. Lord, we have no words to express how grateful we are for Your Peace. We breathe it in and know by experience how it overcomes the flesh and the things of this world. Knowing we’re in Your Grip is all the Peace we need in this life and creates an excitement for the one You’ve prepared for us.
