Anthony Loffredo was a nightclub security guard in Montpellier, France with an ordinary life and one very specific obsession, he didn't feel human. So he decided to stop being one. He started at age 26 by splitting his tongue. Then came full body blackout tattoos covering every inch of skin including his eyeballs, skull implants, scarification, ear removal, partial nose removal, top lip removal, and the amputation of two fingers on his left hand to create a claw-like appearance. Many procedures were so extreme he had to travel to different countries to find surgeons willing to perform them. He calls the ongoing transformation the Black Alien Project and considers it a personal evolution rather than mutilation. "It's a personal evolution and an aesthetic improvement," he has said. As of 2024 he reports being approximately 66% complete. What remains on his list includes amputating a leg and replacing it with a robotic one. The transformation comes at a daily cost. He has been barred from restaurants, turned down from job interviews, and had Uber drivers drive straight past him.
