Proverbs 29:25 A spirit of Fear is one of the most effective warriors the enemy uses against us. A spirit of Fear distracts us Truth, blinding us to reality…reality that God‘s in control. It’s as if Fear ‘pulls the blinds down’ so Light is either muted or can’t come through. Fear causes emotions to go into hyperdrive and guides us along a path where our situation and condition is processed through Fear. It’s really a cunning move for the enemy as once fear takes hold, Deceit joins the fight dulling, our senses to Truth. Truths like ‘Cry out to Jesus’ and ‘Give it to God because He cares for us’. ‘God will never let go of us …’ and ‘His Mercies are new every day‘. And ‘His Love never fails’. Reminders to run to our Strong Tower for Refuge and Strength begin to flood in and we have a choice… to continue to entertain Fear in our hearts, allowing him to rule over us with Lies and Deceit…or we can choose God, His Strength, His Courage and His Wisdom to lead us through what comes next. His perfect Love casts out Fear, and all his ‘buddies’ too. It’s time to clean house. What are we afraid of? Where in our lives is Fear moving freely in us, guiding us in making decisions? Lord, we settle in with Your Word, we dig in, finding everything You have to say about Fear. You pull the ‘mask’ off Fear so we see his tactics. We choose to take hold of Your Love, now Fear has no place to go except out… out of our hearts…out of our lives. Lord, fill with Your presence guide us through each day as we take hold of Truth. Thank You for the Word…Your Word that lives in us.
