Mercy is not weakness. Mercy is obedience. James 2:12–13 reminds us that the way we speak, act, judge, correct, respond, and treat others matters before God. Scripture does not say mercy cancels truth. It says mercy triumphs over judgment. That means we do not get to use religion as a reason to be harsh, cold, cruel, prideful, dismissive, or without compassion. God sees how people treat others. He sees the words. He sees the motives. He sees the judgment. He sees the mercy or the lack of it. A person can be “right” about a lot of things and still be wrong in spirit. Let mercy triumph. James 2:12–13 NLT
