Psalm 23:6 What if… We craved, above all else, His presence? What if we could see His Goodness and Mercy and unfailing Love following us… everywhere? What if we recognized ‘they’ catch us when we stumble, hold us when we fall, bless us when we ‘feel’ empty inside? As David hums his tune and puts words to the song he had in his heart, we know he had to be there, right there… in God‘s presence. He’d found the sweet spot, the place where the meadow meets the creek. David knew how precious it was as he’d also experienced the sunless valley. It was God‘s goodness and mercy and unfailing love that caused him to be fearless, strong, and courageous. We don’t have to wait to experience God‘s presence, His unfailing love and everything He is. We get distracted, taunted by the enemy as he whispers in our ear, ‘Where is your God?’ When we focus on our Lord, He surrounds us with… Himself. We’re here, surrendered, fearless, strong and courageous. We find His rest in our Strong Tower, we know Him as our Refuge. It’s here that no one can stop us from giving Him praise and honor and glory. What if… we lived our life this way? Experiencing His presence, being filled with His power, enjoying His peace and His rest? Do we live… ‘circumstantially’ in His presence? You know, depending on what’s happening to us, or around us? It’s amazing how He gives us spiritual truth in pictures so we can ‘see’ it, so we can imagine it. In reality, it’s when our flesh is controlled by the spirit we see Him following us with His goodness and mercy and unfailing love, and leading us with His presence. Thank You, Lord.
