Psalm 105:1 Raise your hands, all you peoples of the land and give thanks to the Lord for He is good! And… As if we need a little help in thanking Him for His goodness, our psalmist gives us clues… what are we thankful for? We could start with when we seek Him and inquire of Him, craving Him and His strength, not only is He here but He infuses us with His strength to overcome temptation. We call to our memory the things He’s done for us, the times we found comfort in His presence, courage when we had none. We thank Him for calling us, for delivering us, redeeming us… saving us, changing our hearts and growing our faith. We thank Him for being Trustworthy and Faithful, Patient and Kind. We thank Him for loving us… we sing praises to Him, we think about Him… meditate on what He’s done. This isn’t rushing through our worship with time limitations. Meditation is sitting down considering what we have to be thankful for and then rising when we’re done not because the clock says five minutes is enough. We glory in His holy name, our hearts rejoice as we seek Him, recognizing our desperate need for Him. Lord, there’s no limit to what You can accomplish, likewise there is no limit to our gratitude. If we run out of things to be thankful for, would You remind us of the times You carried us, held us, opened Your hands and revealed Your grace.
