MARCH TORNADO AREA! Here we go folks. March is here and with it, the traditional beginning of tornado season. The air is warming up, moisture is on the increase and moving northwards. The winter jet stream is still amped and hanging out south. As these ingredients begin interacting, tornado activity typically increases and expands. March is often known for fast moving weather systems, and can produce widespread tornado outbreaks spanning many states over multiple days. Activity tends to focus on the #Mississippi and #Ohio valley regions, with deep digging troughs that see fast moving frontal boundaries. Dixie Alley also sees a sharp increase in activity as well.
