Texas – Nighttime Forecast: January 23–24 During the night of Friday, January 23rd into the early hours of Saturday, January 24th, central and southeastern Texas should expect a split precipitation scenario. This includes not only snow and ice but also thunderstorm activity. Some storms could cluster and become strong, bringing heavy downpours, strong wind gusts, and lightning, with a conditional risk for tornadoes in certain areas. A cold front moving through could help erode the warm cap aloft. Even with low CAPE, there remains a small possibility for surface-based storms where parcels manage to break through. #texas #txwx
