Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed that J.J. McCarthy has a hairline fracture in his throwing hand and will miss Minnesota’s Week 17 Christmas Day game against the Lions. The injury showed up on additional imaging after McCarthy exited the recent win over the Giants, and while it doesn’t require surgery, there wasn’t enough time to get him ready this week. His ability to play in Week 18 will depend on how well he can grip and throw the ball. In his place, Max Brosmer will get the start — marking his second NFL start this season. #NFL #Vikings #JJMcCarthy #MaxBrosmer #InjuryNews #NFLWeek17 #ChristmasDayGame
