Honestly, I don’t see the State Department’s shift as entirely negative. The world is changing, and human-rights issues today are broader than what they were ten or twenty years ago. If topics like reproductive rights or LGBTQ protections are affecting millions, why shouldn’t they be included? I just hope the updates mean we’re paying attention to more issues, not abandoning old ones. #HumanRights
