I’m on SNAP but I Pay Taxes — Why Don’t I “Deserve” Good Food?

because your taking taxpayer money because you refuse to support yourself.

I was taught that all work has value and anyone who works for a living deserves respect, because in the times we are living in, with out of control prices and the cost of living with a roof over your head and food on your table is unattainable for those who work long endless hours or those who worked all their life is a tragedy especially for a country as rich as the United States

"Good food" does not include soda, Doritos, and candy. 🙄 Supplemental. Nutrition. Assistance. All of these words have a very precise meaning. ✌️

Because the Republican party wants people to get off public assistance and start working for a living to provide for themselves. That's the plan always.

I would much rather see the old commodities come back and take the place of snap !! Because that would change the way people look at welfare and the kids would never want to be on welfare again when they grew up they would work so they would never end up eating commodities again !! It would change their out look on life !! And Al schools have a financial class mandate!! Now people who are really disabled and old should get the snap benefits but healthy people no !! And before you call me names when I was 13 years old my dad got hurt bad at work in the oilfield broke both legs below the knees bones sticking though new leather boots my mom begged for welfare assistance but no because we didn’t owe for anything but they finally started giving us commodities yes most of it was nasty but we ate it and was glad of it and it made me not to ever be on them again but we survived it I am 73 years old now !!

there are a lot of american families that work and pay taxes but make just above the threshold to actually get a supplemental income from snap. start calling out the tik tokers that brag about how much they get and what they buy for their kids......call out the abusers of the system. bad apples ruin the whole basket....js

SNAP does not prevent someone from buying good food. it's called vegetables. spend your benefits money on good whole foods instead of foods that destroy health.

You do deserve good food just not junk food or cigarettes.

Minimum wage jobs were NEVER meant to be a livable wage. Get a marketable education or learn a skilled trade and get to work! And, stop mooching off taxpayers.👍
