You know what, we tried that. We sucked it up when our opponents screeched epithets at us and called us nazis for disagreeing with them. We had a guy who made his entire career out of sitting down with people of opposing views and having calm, respectful and rational conversations with them. And then they killed him. I’m sorry, but it’s impossible to peacefully coexist with people who want you dead and then prove it by cheering when someone like you dies.
