I had to pick my own switch too. Pick one too small and get sent back for another. Standing there trying to decide which switch to pick was the worst. Then you had to strip the bark off and leave 2 leaves at the top so it made that swishing sound before it hit your hind-end. I can still hear that sound today. Maybe kids today should have to go pick their own switch and it would only take one time to learn manners, respect, and accountability. 🤣😂🤣

There's a retaining wall behind our condo. Behind the wall is woods. Unfortunately what grows there can't be controlled. But I have to say that since the introduction of these nasty lantern flies, I've never seen more than I have this year. I guess we need a larger bat population to combat them.

I see about 10 different guesses. The best way I have found with dealing with invasive plants is to cut them down to about 2", then dig about 2" & take a blow torch to the roots. works every time for me.

If you have a small tree of Heaven, there is a larger tree nearby. If you cut a larger TOH, they will send out hundreds of root suckers. There is a method called hack and squirt to kill the root. Generally, triclopyr is the poison of choice with concentrated glyphosate next.

my step mom told me to go out in the yard and get her something to beat me with. hell I was a smartass 10 year old. I walked out in that yard, I seen the lilac bush, the snowball bush, and several dog ties. I returned after a quick scour of the premises, with the first page of the free weekly newspaper. when I say that upset her, that was an understatement
