I have never understood the saying “All appearances are illusory”, how can I distinguish the truth from the illusory? Mendez's work has inspired me: when facing the same cloud, people who are greedy for money see wealth, people who are lonely see love, and people who are practicing Buddhism see a sea of stars in the sky. Often what we see is not the way things really are, but the nameless delusion of our own mind.
