Ever heard “no bananas on the boat”? It’s hands-down the most stubborn superstition in fishing. I once saw a captain toss a Banana Boat sunscreen overboard like it was cursed 😅 — only to realize it was the only sunblock onboard. No one really knows why bananas are bad luck, but ask any old-timer and they’ll swear by it. Even the word banana can set off alarms!
