58 and Done! School Gave Me Pennies for Double Work Load 😤

Hey everyone, I'm literally shaking as I write this and really need your thoughts. 😰 After 24 years as a middle school admin assistant, my district just dumped the entire high school on me too - that's 350 extra kids and 50 more staff! Guess what they offered for doubling my workload? Nineteen cents an hour. NINETEEN CENTS! 💸 Plus they wanted me to sign away my overtime rights and work through lunch with zero coverage. I'm 58, too young to retire properly, but my health is tanking. Lost 7 pounds in two weeks from stress alone. 😔 So I did something crazy - filed for early retirement without telling them. Friday's my last day and I'm terrified but excited. Am I making the right call walking away from financial security? Has anyone else taken this leap?
