Wildflowers Don’t Fix Loneliness

Tom McCall Point in late April: everyone says it’s peak wildflower season, but no one mentions how loud the wind gets when you’re the only one on the trail. I thought the colors would make me feel something—like awe, or at least relief. Instead, I just kept thinking about the last message I didn’t send, and how every photo I took felt like proof I was trying too hard to be present. The views are supposed to be the reward. But sometimes you get to the top and realize you’re still carrying everything you brought with you—just higher up, and a little more tired. #Travel #SoloHikingTruth #TravelLoneliness
