When Your Dog Hides Better Than You Ever Could

Today, my roommate and I turned our apartment upside down looking for our dog, Mochi. We checked every room, every closet, even the fridge (don’t judge). Panic set in. I was already picturing lost posters and dramatic Instagram stories. Turns out, Mochi was wedged behind the couch, snoring like a chainsaw, completely oblivious to our meltdown. The worst part? We called his name a hundred times and shook his treat jar. Not a peep. I swear, pets have a sixth sense for when you’re about to lose your mind. Anyway, Mochi’s fine. My blood pressure? Not so much. If you’ve ever spent an hour searching for a pet who’s just napping somewhere weird, solidarity. Why do we love these furry little chaos agents so much? #Pets #Cats #PetLife

Absolutely!! That's the worst feeling.. Or when they think they're hiding.. Their little butts are peeking out.. If I can't see them..!? They can't see me..😉🐾♥️

I have a Heeler… no similar problems… on the other hand will never be in bathroom alone… sits & stares at me if I am on toilet; sleeps in front of shower if I am there… comes into closet when I dress…gets into bed to be next to me@night (along with husband and other… smaller Heeler/chihuahua (don’t ask!!!)… nope no hiding dogs!

Have you checked his hearing since you stated you called his name several times and shook his treat jar. Depending on his age, he might have a hearing loss. 😲🤔🥰

Common Sense
Not pets, but when my nephew was little, his mom took him shopping with her. He got tired of waiting for her, looked down and saw a large storage drawer pulled out. He climbed in, curled up and fell asleep. An hour of searching later, the police were called and his frantic mother was in complete panic mode. She was sure he had been kidnapped. He woke up when he heard voices, stretched, and climbed out of his cozy nap box, much to the shock and amazement of everyone standing there, including the police who were writing up a report. His mom never took him shopping with her again 😂

I understand... I 2020 I lived alone with my doggo. I realized I hadn't seen her in too long. I called her, nothing. I went from room to room calling her. I started to panic, she was a Grey hound and could easily jump most fences, if she wanted to. I tried one more time, she must have heard my panic, she came trotting out of a closet in an empty bedroom...

We snuck our cat into a hotel and left to get food. When we got back, no cat anywhere in our room. Went outside and checked under every car, bushes, dumpster, you name it. After over an hour we decided to go back to our room to eat our cold food when a pillow moved. Sure enough there was our cat in the pillow case. What a relief 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I did that in a panic search for my 100 pound weimaraner. I cover the recliner with a similar color blanket as the dog. the recliner is just the right size to curl up in. he watched me panicking as I searched for him. eventually I saw him curled up watching me I felt like a fool. how do you lose a 100 pound dog?

I understand what you are saying. I have a couple of cats that will just sit there as I continue to call them to come inside. They look at me like , whatever, mommy. No get you butt in here. Then I have carry them in. Kids.

I’ve been there, too, with my cats. Specifically, Montana snores like a bulldog & will not budge for his treats cause when he’s out like a light, ‘fogetaboutit’
