Did This Cat Just Adopt Me?

So, I opened my door this morning and there’s this cat just... sitting there. Not even pretending to be shy. Just full-on eye contact, like, "Hey, you live here now, right?" I’m not a cat person (I say, as I Google ‘can cats eat cheese’), but this little furball is making me question my entire identity. I mean, what’s the protocol here? Do I just let it in? Is there a secret cat adoption handshake I don’t know about? Or am I about to become That Person who posts cat pics every day? I’m torn between ‘responsible adult’ and ‘crazy cat parent in training.’ Anyone else ever get chosen by a pet? What did you do?
