There’s a trail in the far corner of southwest Virginia—3.5 miles to a place called the Devil’s Bathtub. It’s not a long hike, but it’s the kind that makes you notice how loud your own thoughts get when there’s no cell signal and the only company is the sound of water over stone. I went because someone said it was a hidden gem. But standing at the edge of that sandstone pool, all I could think about was how easy it is to feel lost even when the path is marked and the destination is clear. Sometimes you hike out to the middle of nowhere and realize you brought all your baggage with you anyway. #Travel #TravelConfessions #HikingAlone
