Older Teachers Accuse Me of Scamming for Wanting Financial Freedom! 😱

Lately, I've been trying to figure out how to boost my income and cut down on expenses as a teacher. I thought sharing my journey toward financial independence would spark some helpful conversations. Most people were supportive, but a few older colleagues in their late 40s and 50s started accusing me of being a scammer or a "trust fund baby." It really stings because I grew up dirt poor, and teaching is my passion—not a get-rich-quick scheme. Just because I want to retire early and be financially secure doesn't mean I'm a bad teacher. Why is it so hard for some to accept that teachers can aim for more? I'm honestly feeling pretty distressed by all this negativity. Has anyone else faced this kind of backlash at work?
