Ethiopia’s Nile Dam Drama Just Got Real

Ethiopia just finished its massive Nile River dam, and Egypt is seriously not happy about it. The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has been a huge point of tension because Egypt relies on the Nile for almost all its water. Ethiopia says the dam is key for their growth and promises it won’t hurt their neighbors, but Egypt calls it an existential threat. The official inauguration is set for September—expect some major drama! #NileDam #Ethiopia #Egypt

The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is primarily funded by the Ethiopian government through domestic bonds and private donations, with significant contributions from the Ethiopian people. Additionally, about $1 billion for turbines and electrical equipment was funded by the Exim Bank of China.
