The Dolomites Didn’t Care Who I Was

I stood in South Tirol, staring at mountains that looked fake, like someone had rendered them for a movie I wasn’t starring in. I thought being here would mean something—like the altitude would shake loose whatever I couldn’t name back home. But the Dolomites didn’t care. They didn’t ask who I was, or what I’d left behind. I hiked until my legs ached, hoping for some big feeling, but mostly I just felt small. I took photos I’ll never post, because none of them show the weird emptiness that followed me up every trail. Sometimes travel is just you, your baggage, and a view that doesn’t fix anything. #TravelConfessions #UnfilteredJourneys #SoloTravelTruth #Travel
