You can stare at maps, scroll through endless photos, even memorize the elevation gain. None of it prepares you for the way Zion makes you feel like a misplaced speck. Coming down from Observation Point, my legs were jelly and my phone was full of pictures I knew I’d never post. The canyon walls kept getting taller the lower I went, like the park was quietly reminding me how small I actually am. It’s not awe. It’s a kind of humility you don’t sign up for, but can’t avoid.
