So, here I am—a fresh graduate, first real job as a mechanical design engineer, fancy office, and a shiny new laptop. You’d think I’d be busy changing the world, right? Nope. Most days, my biggest challenge is figuring out what to order for the office online. I finished my first big project way ahead of schedule, and my bosses were thrilled. But since then? Silence. I literally spend hours watching sitcoms and scrolling my phone, just waiting for someone to remember I exist. When my boss finally gets swamped, he dumps a pile of work on me, I finish it quickly, and then it’s back to doing nothing. I’ve even begged to be included in more projects, but it rarely happens. The weirdest part? I just got a raise! I’m honestly lost. Is this normal? How do I get more involved and actually use my skills?
