The Hike Was Quiet. My Mind Wasn’t.

Laurance Lake isn’t the kind of place that shows up on glossy lists. It’s a patch of Oregon that feels like it’s waiting for someone to remember it. Yesterday, I hiked there alone. The trail was muddy, the air cold enough to sting. I kept thinking: if I take a photo, will it look like I felt something? But mostly, I just walked. I watched a heron lift off the water, startled by nothing but me. I tried to feel grateful. Instead, I felt like I was borrowing someone else’s peace. Sometimes, you hike to clear your head. Sometimes, you realize you brought all your noise with you. #SoloHikingTruth #TravelForReal #NatureUnfiltered #Travel
