The View Was Perfect. I Wasn’t

Everyone says Yosemite is life-changing. Maybe it is, if you’re not carrying your own heaviness up the trail. I stood at Glacier Point, the valley spread out like a postcard, and all I could think was: this is supposed to fix something. People around me gasped, took selfies, tried to capture it. I just stared, waiting for awe to hit. It didn’t. The air was thin, the silence too loud. I wanted to feel small and grateful, but mostly I felt tired. Maybe some places are too beautiful to reach you when you’re not ready. Or maybe you just have to admit you’re not okay, even when the view is perfect. #TravelConfessions #NotAlwaysTransformed #NatureAndNumbness #Travel
