Cranberry Sauce That’ll Steal the Show

Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Toss in 12 oz. of fresh or frozen cranberries and bring everything to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat to medium and let it simmer, stirring every now and then, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens (about 10 minutes). Stir in 1/4 cup chopped roasted pecans and 2 oz. cognac, letting it simmer for a couple more minutes. Finish with 2 tsp. orange zest and a pinch of salt. Let it cool and you’re ready to serve!
