Almost Three Decades Down the Drain—Is Loyalty Even Worth It Anymore?

I spent nearly 29 years at the same financial services company, thinking my loyalty and hard work would count for something. Then, out of nowhere, I was let go for 'unsatisfactory performance.' They pointed to two years of 'partially met expectations' and a client payout mistake that was never even proven to be my fault. No warnings, no improvement plans—just a cold goodbye. 😔 What stings the most is seeing others make similar mistakes and keep their jobs.
