Confession time: I moved from Florida to Alabama at 15, and suddenly, school felt like a rerun—except for math, which I’ve always loved. In Florida, standardized tests were the norm, and honestly, they prepped me for everything. But here in Alabama? The teachers balked when I asked about ACT prep for my 7th grader. Too early? Not in my book! Now, as a school nurse, I see kids spend entire classes doing absolutely nothing—just phones and muted lessons. Even at the so-called ‘good’ schools! So, I turned car rides into trivia games with my daughter (quarters as prizes!). She learns more from me than from school, which is both flattering and infuriating. Does anyone else feel this frustration? How do you bridge the gap? Share your hacks, call out my blind spots, and let’s crowdsource solutions. Maybe together, we can outsmart the system! 😅🤔💡 #EducationReform #Parenting #AlabamaSchools #Education
