'Congratulations' Means 'You're On Your Own' at Work

Ever felt like your workplace is a maze with no exit? That’s me right now. I recently got a new job at a small café on a military base, and not long after, I found out I was pregnant. I was excited, but when I asked my boss about maternity leave, she told me there was none—just save up sick days. That felt like a punch in the gut. 😞 Later, HR told me there actually IS paid parental leave, but my boss never mentioned it. Now she barely talks to me, only schedules me when she’s not around, and I can’t shake the feeling she’s trying to push me out. I’m young and honestly have no idea how to handle this. Why does it feel like being honest about my life just made things worse at work? Has anyone else been left out in the cold by their boss like this? What did you do?
