My Dryer Ruined More Than My Clothes

I thought using a dryer would save me time and effort. Instead, it cost me two ruined sweaters, one shrunken pair of jeans, and a $30 dry-clean-only dress that’s now doll-sized. I tried to follow the tags, but I was tired and just wanted clean clothes. I stuffed everything in, cranked the heat, and hoped for the best. When I opened the door, the static hit me first—then the smell of scorched fabric. The lint trap was overflowing. My towels were still damp, but my favorite shirt was crispy. I spent the rest of the night Googling how to unshrink cotton and calculating how much I’d wasted. Next time, I’ll air-dry.
