Is Anyone Else Faking It at Work?

Sometimes I feel like I’m playing a character at my job—like I’m putting on a mask every morning. I keep things strictly professional, barely sharing anything about my real self. It’s not that I don’t want to connect, but the endless office politics just wear me out. I’d rather be friendly but keep my personal life locked away, you know? But lately, I’m starting to wonder if this is normal or if I’m missing out on something by holding back. Do you ever feel like you’re just pretending to fit in at work? How do you deal with it?
