Ever watched a cat judge your cooking? Meet Mochi, my self-appointed dinner inspector. Every evening, as soon as I set down his bowl, he gives me this look—like Gordon Ramsay about to roast an undercooked risotto. First, the sniff test. Then, a dramatic pause. Sometimes he’ll even paw at the bowl, as if saying, “Excuse me, where’s the garnish?” Tonight’s menu: chicken pâté. Mochi circles the bowl, sniffs, and finally digs in.
