Is It Okay to Wait at Red Lights for Safer Right Turns?

Sometimes I just don’t feel comfortable making a right on red, especially on roads where visibility is bad or where I know people speed like crazy. I live in a hilly area, and it’s tough to see around bends—once, I almost got hit by someone flying down a 45 mph road. I get that waiting can annoy drivers behind me, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. If another car is blocking my view, I usually just wait it out instead of risking it. I also try not to inch into the crosswalk, but sometimes it feels like the only way to see. Anyone else struggle with this? How do you handle tricky right turns on red?
