When Your Diploma Gets You the Title, But Not the Trust

I never thought my fresh-out-of-college credentials would put me in such a weird spot. This week, I started as the new team lead at our Chicago branch, but honestly, it feels like I’m invisible at my own meetings. 😅 Most of my team has been here way longer than me, and I can tell they see me as the outsider who just got lucky. Every time I suggest something, it’s like my words just disappear into the air. When mistakes happen, somehow it’s always my fault, but no one wants to talk solutions. I’m really struggling with being the youngest one in the room and not knowing how to earn their respect. Has anyone else been in this situation? How did you finally connect with your team?
