Steaming kale is a quick way to get those greens in, and I’ve tried both the steamer basket and microwave methods. With the steamer basket, I just chop the kale, toss it in, and let it steam for about 5 minutes until it’s bright green and tender. The microwave is even faster—just put the chopped kale in a microwave-safe bowl with a splash of water, cover, and zap it for 2-3 minutes. I like to sprinkle a little garlic powder or squeeze some lemon juice over the top right after. The kale keeps its color and texture, and it’s easy to add to bowls or eat as a side.
