TSA’s New Phone Rules: What You Need to Know

TSA just dropped a warning for anyone flying with their phone: don’t use airport USB charging ports (hello, hackers!) and avoid public WiFi for anything sensitive. Also, if you’re packing a power bank or spare battery, it has to go in your carry-on—NOT checked luggage. Apparently, those little chargers can cause fires. Who knew charging your phone could be so dramatic? Double-check your bag before you fly or risk losing your gadgets at security! #TravelTips #TSA #AirportHacks #Spirituality

Exactly! You can’t get hacked charging your phone. Ridiculous. Also, everyone should have the Norton VPN app which protects you using any WiFi…which we do use all day.

The sad part is this is not a new problem. It has been going on for quite some time, they called it juice jacking. You can Google the term and you can educate yourself even more, even the US Army cycbersecurity department has an article r/t this.

So the fire will be in the cargo hold where it can’t be extinguished unlike in my bag right next to me. Ummm ok

Not using a public charging system isn’t exactly new. It might be new to the TSA, but it isn’t a new idea.
