Degree in Hand, Respect Out of Reach?

Ever feel like your diploma is more of a bullseye than a badge of honor? That’s me right now. I just got bumped up to lead a new team, not because I was the most experienced, but because my degree looked shiny on paper. From day one, it felt like I walked into a room full of doubters. My team—most of them older than me—either dodge my questions or act like I’m invisible when I try to give direction. It’s like I’m speaking a different language, and I have no idea how to earn their trust or get everyone on the same page. Has anyone else ever felt like the outsider after a big move at work?
