carry-on packing struggles for plus size travelers

Last weekend, I spent half an hour sitting on my suitcase, trying to zip it shut before my flight to Chicago. I swear, every time I travel, I tell myself I’ll pack lighter, but somehow my carry-on always ends up stuffed to the brim. As a plus size woman, I find my clothes just take up more space, and it feels like I can barely fit three outfits before the bag is bursting. I even tried rolling my jeans and using those vacuum bags, but then I had no idea how to get the air out without a vacuum in the hotel room! It’s so frustrating watching my friends toss in twice as many outfits in their tiny bags while I’m over here playing suitcase Tetris. Has anyone actually found a way to fit a week’s worth of plus size clothes in a standard carry-on? I’m starting to think the airlines just don’t design these bags for people like us.
