how did i end up growing my own corn from scratch and loving it?

Last spring, I tossed a few corn seeds into my backyard, not expecting much. Fast forward a few months, and I’m standing in a mini jungle of tall, green stalks. Turns out, giving them plenty of sun and a little space to breathe made all the difference. I checked on them every morning, picking off bugs and making sure the soil stayed moist but not soggy. Watching those ears form was wild. I couldn’t help but feel proud when I peeled back the husks and saw those golden kernels. Sharing a few with my neighbors made it even sweeter.
